Tenure Track

Long time since I wrote the last time. A lot has happened:

- I became a mother
- I finished my 2-year postdoc assignment in 5 years due to maternity breaks
- I was self employed through a small grant for 4 months

Also in May 2019, I got an email. I was invited to a tenure track position interview for Stockholm University. Long story short, I got the position

I started my 6 year tenure clock in September 2019. Since then, I have hired a PhD student and I am about to hire a Postdoc. Both wonderful people, smart and very motivated. I am thrilled to be able to work together with them. Also, this year, I have submitted 6 research proposals, either as main applicant or co-applicant. I have been working relentlessly.

In March 2020, I came down with a 5 day fever, strong cough and loss of smell. I did not get tested for covid, but have been working from home since. It is almost 2 months working from home. I can't help to wonder if this will affect my tenure application.

One thing is for sure, even though it has been hard, I know I have been trying my best.
